The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a woman to hospital, after she was injured in a 4WD rollover, on a beach this morning (17th May).
The rescue helicopter flew to the scene, south east of Bundaberg, shortly after 10:30am and landed on the beach.
First responders, including Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES), Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), and the Queensland Police Service (QPS) were assisting the patients.
A woman and two young children were reportedly in a vehicle travelling along the shoreline, when it’s believed the 4WD started to fishtail in the wet sand.
It flipped, landing on its roof.
All three passengers were able to be released from the vehicle shortly after the accident.
The children were treated, then transported to hospital by the QAS.
Their female driver was treated by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue QAS Flight Paramedic and local paramedics, for suspected spinal injuries.
She was airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
