RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts man after car crashes into tree

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted an injured man to hospital, after he was involved in a car crash, earlier today.

It’s believed the man was on his way to work, when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crashed into a tree.

The rescue chopper was sent to the scene, north east of Gympie, shortly before 7am.

The aeromedical crew worked alongside paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service to stabilise the man, who was reportedly trapped in the car for some time.

The patient, aged in his twenties, suffered lower limb injuries and was flown in a stable condition to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
