The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted an injured man to hospital, after he crashed his motorbike, earlier today.
It’s believed he was riding with a group of friends along a trail, through a state forest, in the Mary Valley region, when he lost control and crashed.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was sent to the scene, shortly before midday, where the pilot was able to land in a clearing nearby.
Due to the terrain, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics met the aeromedical team upon their arrival and drove them into the forest, to the patient.
The medical staff worked with QAS and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel to stabilise the patient and move him into the back of an ambulance.
He was transferred to the waiting helicopter, then airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The man, aged in his thirties, had suffered suspected spinal injuries.
