The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter commenced a search, in the northern Toowoomba region, after a man called for help this afternoon (15th Nov).
Emergency services were called by the male, aged in his forties, explaining that he had been out trail bike riding by himself, and had become lost and only had limited water.
After a ground search failed to locate him, the Queensland Police Service (QPS) requested the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter to start searching for the man.
Soon after arriving, at the last known co-ordinates, the rescue chopper crew located the lost rider at a remote hut, on top of a hill.
The crew landed the chopper near the hut and the aeromedical team then walked a short distance to assess the man.
He was suffering severe dehydration and was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
