RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts man after alleged assault

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was allegedly assaulted, in the Gympie region.

The aeromedical crew was called into action just after 8.30 this morning and flew to a paddock, near the scene.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic worked with QAS paramedics to treat the man’s head injuries, before he was loaded into the chopper.

The man, aged in his 40s, was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, in a serious but stable condition.
