The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted an injured man to hospital, after an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) rolled on a private property, south of Gympie.
It’s believed the male’s arm had been trapped, after the vehicle rolled on top of him.
The rescue chopper was sent to the scene, shortly after 9:40 this morning (Sunday 24th Jan), where the pilot was able to land the helicopter in a paddock, close to the accident.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel were all in attendance when the rescue aircraft arrived.
The man, aged in his 60s, suffered significant arm injuries and was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, in a stable condition.
He travelled under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic.
