An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a critically injured man, after he reportedly fell eight metres from a tree he was working on, in the Bundaberg region.
Both the Bundaberg and Brisbane-based aircraft were tasked, shortly before 4 o’clock this afternoon (Monday 27 Sept).
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) officers transported the patient from the scene, to a nearby oval, to rendezvous with the choppers.
The aeromedical crews worked alongside paramedics to treat the man for head injuries.
The Brisbane-based crew then flew him to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, in a critical condition.
The man, aged in his 60s, travelled under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and a Flight Nurse.
