The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was trapped in the cabin of an excavator when a tree fell on the machine, while he was clearing land in the Bundaberg region.
The large tree landed across the cabin, completely crushing the roof.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) officers worked to free the man from the crumpled machine.
He was treated by Queensland Ambulance Service Paramedics, who called for the rescue chopper, which was tasked at 3.30pm. (Sat 16th)
The Sunshine Coast-based aircraft landed at a property close to the incident scene.
The man, who is aged in his sixties, was stabilised by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedics.
He was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, suffering leg and other suspected injuries.
