The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was injured in a motorbike incident, on K’gari (Fraser Island), this morning.
It’s believed the man, who is aged in his 60s, was riding his three-wheeled dirt bike, when it hit a washout, causing him to topple over the handlebars.
The motor trike then landed on top of him.
The rescue chopper was called to the eastern side of K’gari, just before midday (3rd October).
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter pilot landed the aircraft at a helipad, where the aeromedical team met with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and the patient.
He was treated for lower-leg injuries, before being flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition.
