Three LifeFlight helicopters have flown three people to hospital after a serious two-vehicle crash in the South Burnett region.
It’s believed two vehicles collided on a rural road, with one vehicle crashing into the side of the other.
The Brisbane and Toowoomba RACQ LifeFlight Rescue choppers and the Toowoomba LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter were called to the scene, about midday.
The LifeFlight pilots landed their aircraft on a road which had been closed by Queensland Police Service (QPS), near the crash scene, where Queensland Fire and Emergency (QFES) personnel were on-site.
The aeromedical teams, including RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctors, worked alongside local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat and prepare the three patients for airlift.
A woman, aged in her forties, suffered suspected chest injuries and was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.
Another woman from the same car, who is aged in her 70s, suffered leg injuries and was flown to the Toowoomba Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A third patient, believed to be in a serious condition, was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
