The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a police officer to hospital, after he was injured in a crash between a police vehicle and a truck, in the Toowoomba region.
It’s believed the officer, who is aged in his 50s, sustained multiple injuries as a result of the crash.
The rescue chopper was called into action at approximately 2pm.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper pilot landed the aircraft in a field, near the crash site.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic were already on scene, treating the patient, after responding to the incident via road ambulance.
The patient was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
