LifeFlight choppers airlift two critically injured people to hospital

Two LifeFlight helicopters have flown two people to hospital, after they were critically injured in a crash, in the Toowoomba region, this afternoon.

It’s believed the single vehicle incident occurred on a private property.

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew and the Toowoomba LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) chopper crew were called to assist shortly before 3pm (Saturday, 10th June).

Both chopper pilots landed their aircrafts near the scene of the incident, north of Toowoomba.

Both aeromedical crews worked alongside local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat a man, aged in his 70s, and a woman, aged in her 60’s.

Both had suffered multiple traumatic injuries as a result of the crash.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew airlifted the male patient to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

The female patient was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital by the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter crew.

She travelled in a critical condition.

Tasked by Queensland Health, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
