The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man from a beach in the Noosa region this afternoon.
It’s believed the man suffered a medical episode while in the water, and bystanders had to pull him to shore.
The aeromedical team was called into action just before 1pm (Saturday 29th July) and the pilot was able to safely land the rescue helicopter on the sand.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the man and prepare him for the airlift.
He was then flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, for further assessment and treatment.
