The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew airlifted a man to hospital this afternoon after he was trapped under a 500kg ladder.
The chopper was tasked just after 11am to a location north of Goondiwindi where the pilot landed the aircraft next to a highway.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated the man who had reportedly been loading a truck when the incident happened.
It is believed he was pinned under the heavy ladder before being freed by witnesses.
He was taken from the scene by ambulance and driven a short distance to the helicopter.
The man, in his 30s, suffered suspected spinal injuries and was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital under the care of RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic.
He was in a stable condition.
