Mother airlifted after 4WD hit a pothole and rolled

The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter crew airlifted a woman to hospital this afternoon after she was injured when the 4WD she was driving hit a pothole on a dirt road and rolled.
The aeromedical crew was tasked to a rural town in the City of Ipswich just after 3pm.
The rescue helicopter pilot landed the chopper on a road near the incident.
Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) crews needed to cut the vehicle to free the woman before the aeromedical rescue crew could work alongside local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat her for chest injuries.
It is believed there were five uninjured children in the car and that they were on their way to an afternoon sport.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.
She was in a stable condition during the flight.
Tasked by Queensland Health, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
