The Bundaberg-based RACQ LIfeFlight Rescue helicopter crew airlifted a man today from K’gari after he was bitten by a snake.
The aeromedical crew was tasked at around 4pm and the pilot was able to land near the patient on the western side of the island.
It’s believed the man, aged in his 40’s, was bitten on the leg by a small unidentified snake while bushwalking.
A compression bandage had been applied before the approval of the crew and the man was able to walk unassisted to the chopper.
He was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter and crew service the Wide Bay-Burnett region and beyond.
