The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter crew has airlifted three patients to hospital, after separate motocross accidents in the South Burnett region.
The rescue chopper was tasked to two missions at a private recreational park today (Saturday 25th May).
The first mission this morning involved two motocross riders who were injured in separate accidents.
The RACQ LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic treated the patients alongside local QAS) paramedics.
A male rider in his 20’s suffered a serious foot injury after colliding with another rider.
The second patient was a teenage male who suffered a broken leg while crashing over a jump.
Both riders were airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Before departing the hospital, the LifeFlight Rescue crew were tasked to the same recreational park for another injured rider.
Once on scene the crew treated a male teen for a head injury before he was airlifted to LifeFlight’s Toowoomba base and then road transported to the Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
