The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew has rescue-winched a man who fell while hiking.
It’s believed the hiker, aged in his 70s, was descending a walking trail in Main Range National Park when he had a medical episode.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at around 2.30pm yesterday to the incident and hovered above the mountainous terrain, before a LifeFlight QAS flight paramedic was lowered to the man below.
The paramedic and patient were winched into the chopper and he was treated for minor injuries and dehydration.
He was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
