The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a teenager to hospital yesterday after a swimming incident.
The crew was tasked to the scene near the mouth of the Noosa River at 4:20pm.
It is believed a female teenager struck her head on a sandbank while swimming in the river.
She was taken to shore where the LifeFlight critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic together with local QAS paramedics treated the patient for suspected back and neck injuries.
The teenager was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.
