The LifeFlight Bundaberg-based aeromedical crew yesterday located a missing man and his two dogs in the Fraser Coast region.
The rescue chopper was tasked to search for the man at 9.25am.
It’s believed the man, aged in his 60s, was disoriented and had wandered into bushland.
He had been missing for around 24 hours when he was located by the LifeFlight aircrewman.
Due to the dense bush, the LifeFlight rescue crewman and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic directed Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers to the man’s location.
The QAS flight paramedic was winched down to assess the man and winch him back into the aircraft.
QPS officers secured the man’s two dogs and took them to a safe location.
The helicopter then landed at a local field where QAS paramedics transported him to Hervey Bay Hospital for further treatment.
The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight helicopter and crew service the Wide Bay-Burnett region and beyond.
