The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital after he was run over by an excavator.
The chopper was tasked to the scene at a private property south-west of Bundaberg, at around 2pm.
It’s believed the patient had been operating an excavator when it stalled on a hill and began to roll backwards.
He jumped from the machine, which then ran over him.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were first on the scene.
The man, who is aged in his 50s, was transported a short distance to the waiting helicopter, into the care of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic.
He was airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital suffering suspected lower limb injuries.
