The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter has airlifted a man, after the truck he was driving rolled onto its side, leaving him trapped for around an hour.
The aeromedical team was called to the scene in the Southern Downs region, around 6.15 this morning and the pilot landed the helicopter in a paddock next to the crash site.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel were at the scene, working to extract and treat the patient.
The man, aged in his 50s, was then loaded into the helicopter and flown to Toowoomba Hospital.
He had suffered minor injuries.
Tasked by Queensland Health, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
