The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was reportedly trampled by cattle on a private property, this afternoon.
It’s believed the patient, aged in his 70s, was tagging cattle in the South Burnett region, when an animal knocked him to the ground and reportedly stomped on him repeatedly for several minutes.
The man then managed to exit the cattle yard and drive himself to a nearby farmhouse, where his wife called emergency services.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics initially treated the patient for serious upper body injuries, before transporting him to a nearby hospital to meet the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew.
The patient was then flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, in a serious but stable condition, under the care of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care doctor.
