The Mt Isa-based LifeFlight aeromedical helicopter crew airlifted two men to hospital this afternoon after a single vehicle accident.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at midday to a stretch of highway in the Barkly Tableland region in the Northern Territory.
The pilot landed the aircraft on the road, where two of four patients were taken by stretcher to a nearby RFDS plane.
They were treated by a Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) doctor at the scene.
Two male patients, one with neck pain and the other with an arm wound, were airlifted by helicopter to Mt Isa Hospital for further treatment.
The other two were flown by RFDS.
