The Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter has airlifted a man, after a motorbike accident on a private property, east of Cunnamulla, yesterday (Sunday 31st January).
The aeromedical crew flew to the scene just before 10.30pm.
The patient, aged in his 30s, had reportedly suffered injuries to his head and neck and was treated by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and LifeFlight Paramedic.
The man was loaded into the helicopter in a stable condition and flown to a town in the Balonne Shire, to rendezvous with a Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) fixed-wing aircraft.
The patient was then flown to Brisbane for further treatment.
The LifeFlight SGAS helicopter performed the mission, as part of the SGAS partners commitment to assisting in providing the south west region and beyond, with community aeromedical coverage, by donating 150 flying hours each year.
