Meet our Team – Jen La Rue

Jen La Rue is one of the people behind the scences, who makes sure our Training Academy continues to run smoothly and help save lives.

LFA: Firstly, can you tell us who you are and what you do here at LifeFlight?

JLR: My name is Jen La Rue and I am the Client Liasion Coordinator.

LFA: How long have you been at LifeFlight Australia?

JLR: I originally worked here in 2017-18 and then I returned in this role in 2021

LFA: What’s your favourite part of working here?

JLR: We get to do really cool things that also help save lives. Getting to try new things is amazing and I wouldn’t have these opportunities somewhere else. So far, I’ve been in the co-pilot seat of the simulator and been dunked underwater as a part of a HUET Training simulation!

LFA: Something that would surprise us about the role/you:

JLR: My job is a lot like a puzzle: you have to put all the pieces together to see the pretty picture! My role has lot of elements that all work together including arranging training proposals, client contracts, managing trainee schedules and coordinating bookings for the AW139 Sim!

LFA: What energises you at work?

JLR: No matter what, you’ll always catch me jamming to RNB Fridays on the radio! Nelly’s ‘Ride Wit Me’ is my favourite – I can’t help it!

LFA: Outside of work you will find me…..

JLR: In the gym or hanging out with my border collie Ada! I love taking her to new places to explore! She absolutely loves the beach and will spend hours digging and chasing the ball!

LFA: What one superpower would you want to have?

JLR: I’ve always thought that the ability to grant wishes would be amazing plus Jen the genie has a nice ring to it…

LFA: Best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

JLR: It’s about the journey, not the destination. Make sure you stop and take in the view along the way.

LFA: What can’t you live without?

JLR: Snacks! Corn chips and dip are the way to my heart!

Thank you, Jen! We couldn’t do what we do every day without our amazing team. If you’d like to find out more about our LifeFlight Training Academy course, click here.<www.lifeflight.org.au/training-academy>
