RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopters have been kept busy this afternoon (Saturday 3rd Oct), with three separate motorcycle accidents in two hours.
In the first accident, the Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper flew to the Somerset region just after 1:30, where a motorcyclist reportedly lost control of his bike, on a bend, and crashed 20 metres down an embankment.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were treating the patient, aged in his 40s, for lower limb injuries, when the aeromedical team arrived.
He was transferred to the chopper, before being airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
In the second incident, the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter flew to a private motocross park in the South Burnett region.
A male rider, aged in his 40s, suffered suspected pelvic, arm and leg injuries, after he reportedly fell off the back of his motorbike.
The aeromedical crew worked alongside local QAS officers to treat the rider.
He was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
The third motorcycle accident was in the Gladstone region, at a private motocross park.
The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter departed base shortly after 2:15pm and was able to land close to the scene.
A QAS Flight Paramedic and local QAS officers treated rhe teenage male patient for suspected concussion.
He was airlifted to the Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
Today’s missions make up a total of five motorcycle accidents RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crews have attended in less than 24 hours.
