The Mount Isa-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted an elderly man to hospital, after he spent several hours missing, in north west Queensland.
The rescue chopper was tasked by the Queensland Police Service (QPS) at 4pm Sunday (4th October), to commence a search, almost 400km north east of Mount Isa.
The missing man was last seen by his family, around 8am on Sunday, at a camp site along the Flinders River.
As the rescue chopper approached the search area, they were notified that the gentleman had been found by local QPS Officers.
The rescue chopper landed and the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic treated the male in his seventies, for dehydration.
He was subsequently airlifted to Mount Isa Hospital, in a stable condition.
