The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew joined forces with a second aeromedical team, to airlift a motorcycle rider, injured in an accident this afternoon. (Sat 11th April)
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper flew to the scene at a private property in the North Burnett region, where the man, aged in his forties had been riding, when he was thrown from his bike.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were treating the patient for multiple injuries, when the helicopter arrived.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted him to Maryborough Airport, where the crew transferred him to a Queensland Government Air (QGAir) helicopter.
He was then airlifted, under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor, to a hospital in south-east Queensland, for further medical attention.
