The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a woman to hospital, after she was burned in a gas bottle explosion, earlier this evening (Wednesday 18 March).
The rescue crew was called to the scene, south of the Sunshine Coast, just after 6:30pm.
It’s believed the woman, aged in her sixties, was injured when a gas bottle exploded at a home.
The chopper was able to land outside the property.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers were on the scene, when the aeromedical team arrived.
RACQ LifeFlight Rescue’s Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic worked alongside local QAS staff, to treat the woman for significant burns to her upper body.
She was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, in a serious but stable condition
