Three patients, including a young boy, have now been airlifted after a serious head-on collision in the Western Downs, last night (21 August 2020).
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked around 9.15pm to transfer two men to another hospital.
The patients, one aged in his 40s and one in his 60s, were flown from a hospital in the Western Downs to Toowoomba Hospital.
They were both in a stable condition.
Earlier in the night, the Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a seriously injured toddler from the scene.
The chopper was tasked to the crash site just after 7pm.
An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and a QAS Flight Paramedic worked alongside paramedics, to treat the young male, who suffered multiple injuries.
After he had been stabilised, he was flown to the Queensland Children’s Hospital, in a serious condition.
