An injured woman has been winched from a mountain west of Maryborough this morning, after she tripped and fell.
The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter was tasked around 9:30am.
It’s believed the woman, aged in her forties, had been at a lookout at the top of the mountain, when she fell.
Members of the group she was with immediately contacted emergency services.
Once overhead the scene, the aeromedical crew managed to quickly locate the patient and a Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic was winched down.
The paramedic assessed and treated the patient for a head injury, before being winched back into the aircraft, with the woman.
She was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital, in a stable condition.
