The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a woman to hospital, after a motor vehicle crash, north of Bundaberg, this morning.Â
A four wheel drive collided head-on with a hatchback, which had been travelling in the opposite direction.Â
The front passenger of the hatchback, a woman aged in her fifties, suffered suspected arm and chest injuries in the crash.
The rescue chopper was called to the scene, in the Gladstone region, just after 11am.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter pilot was able to land the aircraft on a stretch of road, which had been closed by local Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel were on the scene when the aeromedical team arrived.
The woman was flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition, under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue QAS Flight Paramedic.
