RACQ LifeFlight Rescue choppers have airlifted three motorcyclists to hospital this weekend, after separate crashes across South East Queensland.
The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a teenage male to hospital this afternoon, after he crashed his bike on North Stradbroke Island.
The rescue helicopter flew to the island at 1 o’clock (Sunday 30th May).
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics attended the scene and treated the rider for arm and leg injuries, before transporting him to the local hospital helipad, where they rendezvoused with the rescue chopper.
He was then airlifted to the Queensland Children’s Hospital, in a stable condition, under the care of the aeromedical team.
Earlier today, just after 9:30am, Toowoomba’s RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter flew to the Scenic Rim region, to airlift a motorcyclist, who had reportedly collided with two vehicles.
The woman suffered a leg injury and was transported to a nearby park by QAS, where they were met by the aeromedical team.
The rider, aged in her fifties, was then airlifted to the Gold Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition.
Yesterday, Toowoomba’s RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter flew another woman to hospital, after she was injured in a motorcycle crash, also in the Scenic Rim.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics at the scene treated the woman for a serious hip injury, before driving her to the waiting rescue chopper.
The aeromedical crew stabilised her and airlifted her to Toowoomba Hospital.
The woman, aged in her fifties, travelled in a stable condition.
