The Bundaberg RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has helped rescue stranded boaties in waters north of Gladstone, after their vessel reportedly ran into mechanical problems.
The rescue crew was tasked by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) around 1pm, to locate the small boat, after its beacon was activated.
The pilot flew to the area and the crew was able to spot the boaties, when they used a day flare.
The chopper crew carefully maintained visual contact with the vessel, while talking to the Gladstone Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) team, to guide their boat to the scene.
VMR towed the vessel back to port and the helicopter returned to base.
