The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has winched a woman to safety, after she reportedly fell over rocks while bushwalking, west of Maryborough.
It’s believed the woman, who is aged in her 40s, was bushwalking with family, heading towards some waterfalls, when she slipped and fell.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper was called to the scene at 2:15pm (Sunday 20th March).
Local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Fire Emergency Service (QFES) personnel had also made their way to the scene to assist the patient.
Due to the rough terrain, it was decided the QAS Flight Paramedic would be winched down to the patient.
The woman was treated for a broken leg, before being put onto a stretcher, and hoisted into the rescue chopper.
She was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
