The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew airlifted a man from K’gari this morning with chest pains.
The aeromedical chopper was tasked to the island at around 10:30am.
It’s believed the patient was swimming across a popular lake on K’gari, when his chest began to hurt.
The pilot landed the helicopter on the sandy shore nearby.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic worked with a local paramedic to treat the patient on scene.
The man, aged in his 60s, was then flown to Hervey Bay Hospital for further treatment.
The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter and crew service the Wide Bay-Burnett region and beyond.
