Bundaberg’s RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a woman to hospital, after she was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash, in the Bundaberg region this afternoon.Â
It’s believed the woman, who is aged in her late teens, was the driver of a four-wheel drive involved in a two-vehicle crash.Â
After the collision, the teenager’s car then crashed into a bridge barrier.Â
The rescue chopper was tasked to the incident, west of Bundaberg, just after 4pm.Â
The pilot managed to land the aircraft in a paddock nearby.Â
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Flight Paramedic was then escorted to the scene on the road, joining Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient.Â
She was then transported to the helicopter, with the assistance of local Queensland Police Service officers.
The teenager suffered head and lung injuries and was flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a serious, but stable condition.Â
