Two LifeFlight helicopters have airlifted a man and woman to hospital, after they were attacked by a dog on a property in the North Burnett.
The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter was initially sent to the scene around 4.45 this afternoon.
The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was also tasked, around an hour later.
Both helicopters were able to land at the scene and the aeromedical crews on board worked together to treat the injured patients.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel were also in attendance.
The Bundaberg RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew flew the man, aged in his 40s, to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH).
The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter flew the woman to the Sunshine Coast LifeFlight base, from where she was transported to SCUH via road, by QAS paramedics and an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor.
Both suffered multiple injuries.
The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter performed this mission as it is currently, temporarily based on the Sunshine Coast, while the familiar blue and yellow RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter undergoes scheduled engineering.
The aircraft is part of LifeFlight Australia’s commercial operation, which supports the work of the community helicopter fleet, through our profit-for-purpose model and is rotated through our community bases from time to time, when operationally required.
