Young boy airlifted after Western Downs quad bike crash

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a young boy to hospital after he was injured in a quad bike accident in the Western Downs.

It’s believed the primary school-aged boy had been riding the bike at a private property when it crashed.

The rescue chopper was called to the scene shortly after 11.40am (Saturday 10th Dec), and the pilot was able to land in a nearby paddock.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic worked alongside local QAS paramedics, to help treat the boy, who had suspected spinal injuries.

He was then airlifted to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a stable condition, with his mother as an escort.
