Our Gold Coast Regional Advisory Committee’s (RAC) dedication extends beyond their professional roles. They are a group of devoted community leaders, working hand-in-hand with LifeFlight across various initiatives throughout the region.

Jessica Mellor

Regional Advisory Committee Chair

Jessica Mellor is The Star Gold Coast’s youngest and first female Chief Operating Officer (COO), appointed to the position in June 2019.

Jessica began her career with a multinational construction company and has since worked across multiple sectors including infrastructure and property development, funds management, and corporate advisory.

In 2013, she moved into the hospitality and entertainment industry, quickly progressing to become a Board Director of ASX-listed Aquis Entertainment in 2015, and the company’s first female CEO in 2016.

In 2020, Jessica was named an AFR BOSS Young Executive of the Year. She recently completed an Executive MBA from QUT Business School, holds a Bachelor of Sustainable Development (Construction Management) from Bond University and studied Law at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Rachel Hancock

Regional Advisory Committee Deputy Chair

Rachel Hancock is the Executive Director Tourism & Corporate Affairs for Destination Gold Coast. She was previously editor of the Gold Coast Bulletin.

She started her career in South Australia, where she held roles including Deputy Editor (Saturday) of The Advertiser and Deputy Editor of Adelaide’s Sunday Mail before moving to Brisbane to become deputy editor of The Courier-Mail and Sunday Mail.

She was also the first female editor of one of the country’s most quirky and successful tabloids, the NT News, where she quickly learnt crocs were readership gold, but they had to share the spotlight with award-winning investigative journalism.

Glenn Toms

Regional Advisory Committee Member

He leads a large team of staff and external providers across these disciplines for RACQ’s 1.8 million members on a 24/7 basis. This includes the provision of a diverse range of core products including roadside & home assistance, automotive glass, batteries, vehicle recovery and incident management operations, together with the Clubs travel business and the new global mobility centre at Mt Cotton.

Glenn has more than 30 years of commercial experience in financial management, investment, treasury, network operations and process logistics. He is Chairman of RACQ Autoglass and Members Travel Group, a Director of RACQ Operations and Club Assist Corporation, Club Consortium, Australian Club Consortium and ACC CAD Pty Ltd.

Glenn is responsible for the portfolio of Assistance businesses at RACQ and is a standing member of the club’s group executive.

Tania Meli

Regional Advisory Committee Member

Tania advanced into the Sales Manager position with Gold Coast Volkswagen where it became evident that the coaching and development of high performing sales teams in the prestige space was her area of expertise.

Tania has won numerous national and regional awards including Audi Australia Podium Dealer of the Year, Volkswagen Northern Region Dealer of the Year and Metro Dealer of the Year. Also awarded the internal Group “Leadership Award” which is the one closest to her heart and that of which she is most proud.

It is these qualities Tania not only prides herself on but instils in her team and merits these attributes leading to a successful career. She has mentored numerous staff within the Frizelle Sunshine Group; several currently hold key management positions. She is passionate about women in business, regularly speaking at and hosting the Gold Coast chapter of Future Females – a business network for women. She is an active volunteer and feels strongly about giving back to the community.

Tania Meli is the Dealer Principal of both Audi Centre Gold Coast and Ferrari Gold Coast Meli started her career in the automotive industry 22 years ago as a Sales Trainee with James Frizelle’s Automotive, working across brands such as Volkswagen, Audi and Chrysler Jeep Dodge.

Clint Donovan

Regional Advisory Committee Member

He then went onto jackarooing and developed his auctioneering style in the sales yards in Roma, before becoming the Bloodstock Manager for the Magic Millions.

Now married to Telena with three children of their own, Clint joined the Regional Advisory Committee as he wanted to give back to a service which has always been there for the communities of Queensland when they need it the most.

Principal and Auctioneer of Donovan & Co Property Specialists, Clint grew up on the back of a horse mustering cattle with his father in the Clarence Valley.

He then went onto jackarooing and developed his auctioneering style in the sales yards in Roma, before becoming the Bloodstock Manager for the Magic Millions.

Estella Rodighiero

Regional Advisory Committee Member

A strategic thinker and expert negotiator, she has high-level expertise in building collaborative relationships between government, community and business stakeholders, developing and executing international trade missions, strategic planning and policy development, project management, analysis and regional marketing.

She has designed, implemented and achieved multi-million dollar projects and growth outcomes for the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Cairns regions, and most recently was Senior Economic Development Officer for the City of Gold Coast. Here she oversaw projects under the Trade 2018 program for the Commonwealth Games, developing inbound and outbound trade missions, hosting international business leaders and government delegations, and showcasing Queensland industries and investment opportunities with events and forums.

Estella is also an accomplished and sought after public speaker and business lecturer, both in Australia and South East Asia, with a Masters of Professional Studies from the University of Southern Queensland.

Estella brings more than 20 years’ experience as an economic development facilitator and business professional to her role as Director of Regional Development.

Steve Mitchell

Regional Advisory Committee Member

Appointed in 2019, following the announcement of a new club ownership model under the Frizelle and Kelly consortium, Mitchell was chosen to steer the Titans into its most important era to date.

Bringing a wealth of management knowledge, and experience in transformational business periods, Mitchell was part of a management group that drove the North Queensland Cowboys to a meteoric rise. During this period, the Cowboys progressed from cellar dwellers, finishing last in 2010, to their eventual crowning as Premiers of the National Rugby League in 2015.

His most recent appointment was as CEO of Touch Football Australia, where he helped grow the code to a new level of commercialism, taking the primarily amateur-based sport to a nationally broadcasted league, with television backing and a newly forged alliance forged with the NRL.

Raised in the rural Queensland town of Murgon, Mitchell has broad experience spanning corporate and media, with many years as a small business owner.

Steve Mitchell is an experienced sports administrator, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Gold Coast Titans.
