Our South West Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) members are passionate about providing the very best regional healthcare for their community. Their contributions have been essential in supporting the Roma base build, establishing the LifeFlight Visitor Experience and driving ongoing improvements to our operations across the region.

Kate Scott

Regional Advisory Committee Chair

Kate Scott is a dedicated beef producer with deep roots in the Roma community, where she has also contributed 20 years of nursing experience. Her longstanding commitment to the region is evident through her active involvement in various community initiatives.

In 2004, Kate co-founded the Maranoa Community Kindergarten, demonstrating her dedication to early childhood education. She has been a vital part of the Roma Picnic Races committee for 25 years and is heavily involved in the Roma branch of the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association.

Kate’s passion for supporting the Maranoa region and her firsthand experience with farm accidents and emergencies inspired her to join the South West Advisory Committee. She understands the critical role LifeFlight plays in rural areas and is committed to advocating for and supporting LifeFlight’s mission in her community.

Puddy Chandler

Regional Advisory Committee Co-Deputy Chair

A beef producer from Injune, Puddy was born Nita Parry-Okeden at Winton Queensland weighing over 10lb, hence the nickname Puddy. After living on a sheep station in Winton, Puddy moved to Augathella and lived at Bogarella - 1.5 hours up the Warrego River.

Puddy was educated via Correspondence School in Brisbane up until year 6 when she was sent to boarding school in Brisbane. After school Puddy studied to become a teacher and was posted to Mitchell in south west Queensland, and is still a registered teacher today. Puddy married and had 3 sons,  2 of which she taught through the School of Distance Education. Puddy has been a Field Officer for the Dawson River/Fitzroy Basin Catchment and has worked in the Gas fields outside Injune. More recently Puddy completed a 4 year term on Maranoa Regional Council. Puddy is passionate about being an advocate for the rural areas and very keen to preserve the wonderful lifestyle in the bush. Puddy supports the amazing role which LifeFlight plays in rural and remote Queensland.

Sally McGilvray

Regional Advisory Committee Co-Deputy Chair

Sally McGilvray is the Owner/Partner of Womblebank Cattle Co a remote Property 52km West of Injune in Queensland. Sally studied Accounting in Sydney whilst on an Undergraduate Program with Price Waterhouse, then went on to work at Lend Lease in Sydney.

She enjoys being an integral part of a highly active beef business; and also works at Injune Information Centre as Bookkeeper, and completes audits within the local community.
Apart from Wife and Bookkeeper, Sally is also a Station Cook, Ringer, Chief Whip Cracker and Mother. She is supported by her husband Angus and 3 children Molly (23), Lucy
(21) and Mac ( 18).

Sally has been involved in many Community Committees including Mitchell-Tomoo Isolated Children’s Parent Association, Charleville School of Distance education and Tooloombilla Rodeo and Campdraft. Sally is passionate about Education and Health in the bush and supports LifeFlight as she believes it is an integral service that everyone deserves to have access to, no matter where they live.

Imogen Wathen

Regional Advisory Committee Member

A keen traveller, one of the overseas adventures incorporated a Certificate of Strategy and Marketing for Emerging Countries from the UNIP in Sao Paulo Brazil. Imogen started her career in Agribusiness Banking with Rabobank in Moree in 2018 – transferring to Roma in 2019 to be closer to home and her first love (cattle). Imogen has been on the committee for the Young Beef Producers Forum (held in Roma annually) for 4 years and is the Deputy Chair/Secretary for 2021. Imogen is now a Rural Manager with the Rabobank Roma branch and is looking forward to making a difference in the Maranoa community alongside the LifeFlight committee.

Imogen Wathen grew up on her family’s beef cattle property between Yuleba and Wandoan, completing primary school in Yuleba before attending boarding school in Toowoomba. From there she attended UQ Gatton completing a Bachelor of Agribusiness, also working part time as a Disability Carer in Brisbane.

Madeline Peart

Regional Advisory Committee Member

They have also run a successful eco-tourism destination for over a decade which originated with the purpose to bridge the gap between city and rural and shine a positive light on agriculture.

Madeleine is also involved with Resource Consulting Services Australia and for the last 7 years enjoys attending annual board meetings with 6 grazing business in QLD to further our sustainability and profitability. She also volunteers at the local ICPA branch, initiating community activities to bring people together.

Madeleine was first introduced to Life Flight 5 years ago when her nephew needed serious medical assistance on her sister’s property 40km north of Roma. Since the event Madeleine was given the opportunity to speak in Roma to relay the story and how LifeFlight played such a significant role in her nephew’s aid and recovery.

Madeleine and her husband manage two beef cattle properties, living on their home property in Arcadia Valley with their 2 boys.

Lisa Bertolotti

Regional Advisory Committee Member

She has many years of banking experience working with Rabobank, ANZ & Elders – Rural Finance in Roma, Dalby & Toowoomba. She is passionate about small country towns and country air. Lisa and her husband Peter moved to Roma late 2013, to run a small family business, the local newsagency. A few years later they married on their property near Wallumbilla and now have two small children, Ella and Alex. Lisa does bookkeeping in her spare time and has been involved in many local community groups of the years; including her current role as the secretary of the Roma Picnic Race Club.

Lisa is a beef producer and she grew up on a mixed grazing property near Dirranbandi.

Chrissy Chandler

Chrissy is involved in various community groups and up until 12 months ago ran her own small business in town.

Chrissy is a passionate advocate for those living and working in the Southwest and believes everyone should have access to the LifeFlight service no matter where they live.

Chrissy along with her husband are Beef & Grain producers in the rural town of Surat. She is a mother of 4 and has called the Maranoa Region home for the past 20 years.

Chrissy is involved in various community groups and up until 12 months ago ran her own small business in town.

Chrissy is a passionate advocate for those living and working in the Southwest and believes everyone should have access to the LifeFlight service no matter where they live.
